The BJP has got 156 seats in the 182-member Gujarat Assembly. It won a vote share of nearly 53 percent, the highest ever for a party in the western state.

The BJP, which won 99 seats with a vote share of 49.1 percent in the 2017 assembly elections, surpassed its previous best performance of 127 seats in 2002, when (now prime minister) Narendra Modi was chief minister.

BJP's victory in Gujarat broke all records

In Gujarat, BJP has broken all the records for winning so far and has set a record of winning for the 7th time in a row. The message of Gujarat is for the party leaders as well as for the main opposition party like Congress. Along with Gujarat, the results of Himachal Pradesh also came where power was snatched from the hands of the BJP. A day before the results of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi also came where Aam Aadmi Party ended the 15 years rule of the BJP but in these two places also BJP did not allow its base to weaken, rather the vote percentage increased.

Nevertheless, the question has been increasingly raised within the BJP that why the local leadership is not able to prepare Modi's Gujarat model in their respective states. Prime Minister Modi himself has warned the party from many forums not to rely only on him. Connect your wire with the public. Win the trust of workers and the public and fulfill it. The party could not do the same in Himachal. The rebellion and the insurrection completed the right unturned. Till now no such face has been able to flourish within the party in Delhi, with which the whole of Delhi can connect itself.
