Even after Harish was transferred to AIIMS from the Raj Empire Society in Raj Nagar Extension, Ghaziabad, he remained the topic of conversation everywhere throughout Sunday. Several people attempted to contact his family members by calling them repeatedly, but no one answered.

Many residents were unaware that he had been admitted to AIIMS on Saturday. However, since Sunday was a holiday, everyone eventually learned about the situation. Although residents could not meet in person during the morning due to rain, they gathered in the park in the evening to discuss the matter.

Resident Brajraj Singh stated that a few close acquaintances within the society tried calling both the father and the son, but they received no response. No one pressed the matter further, as the family had previously appealed several times for privacy and peace.

Collectively, the residents have entrusted Keshav Kumar—a senior member of the society—with the responsibility of staying in contact with the family, ensuring that immediate assistance can be provided should any need arise.

Resident Anil Raj remarked that it is inappropriate for everyone to repeatedly disturb the family. Some residents mentioned hearing reports that the life support system had been removed; however, this information could not be officially confirmed.

Feeding and Breathing Tubes Removed on Day One

The process of passive euthanasia has officially commenced for Harish Rana, who was admitted on Saturday to the Palliative Care Unit at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute Rotary Cancer Hospital (IRCH) within AIIMS.

A team of specialist doctors at the hospital is monitoring his condition while proceeding, in a phased manner, with the removal of life-sustaining medical equipment. AIIMS has refrained from issuing an official statement regarding this matter, simply stating that it is complying with the orders issued by the Supreme Court.

According to information obtained from sources, two primary tubes connected to Harish's life support system—the tracheostomy tube used for breathing and the PEG feeding tube used for nutrition—have been removed from his body. This procedure is being carried out with the utmost care, in a painless manner, and gradually.

The doctors are making every effort to ensure that Harish experiences no suffering and is able to complete his final journey in a natural and dignified manner. According to hospital sources, Harish's condition is being monitored continuously. However, given the nature of his condition, sources have expressed the apprehension that he may be relieved of his suffering within the next day or two.

What Happens Next?

Last Saturday, Harish was safely transported from Ghaziabad to AIIMS in an ambulance. Harish's father, Ashok Rana, and his mother, Nirmala Devi, were present during this journey. Both parents are currently at the hospital, spending their final moments with their son.

On Saturday, with a heavy heart and tear-filled eyes, Nirmala Devi kissed her son's forehead. Family members state that the hospital's palliative care team is providing him with every possible comfort and care. Consequently, according to the doctors, the process may take some time to reach its conclusion; this will depend on his current medical condition.
