Harmanpreet Kaur shook the record books and set a record by scoring a century in England

Indian women's cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur created history by scoring a century against England. Kaur scored 102 runs in 84 balls with the help of 14 fours in the third match played at Chester Lee Street.

 

Harmanpreet Kaur scored the seventh century of her ODI career and the third century on England soil. Harmanpreet Kaur became the first foreign female batsman to score three ODI centuries on English soil. Kaur broke the record of former Indian captain Mithali Raj and Meg Lanning. Raj and Lanning have scored two ODI centuries in England.

 

Harman set a flurry of records.

 

Harmanpreet Kaur completed her century in just 82 balls. This was the second fastest ODI century in Indian women's history. This record is registered in the name of Smriti Mandhana, who scored a century in just 70 balls against Ireland in Rajkot earlier this year.

Another achievement for Harman

 

Harmanpreet Kaur has become the third female batswoman from India to score 4000 or more runs in ODI format. Mithali Raj and Smriti Mandhana have crossed this figure before her. Harmanpreet Kaur became the second Indian female batswoman after Mithali Raj to score 1000 or more ODI runs on England soil.

 

India won the series.

 

Based on Harmanpreet Kaur's century, the Indian team defeated England by 13 runs in the third and final ODI. Batting first, India scored 318 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. In reply, England's team was all out for 305 runs in 49.5 overs. With this victory, India won the three-match series 2-1.
