Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi has responded to the Supreme Court's remarks. Defending Rahul Gandhi, she said that he respects the army the most.
Priyanka Gandhi said that the Supreme Court has misinterpreted Rahul Gandhi's statement. The Supreme Court had used strong words for Rahul Gandhi's statement on the army the previous day.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, "Rahul Gandhi has always respected the soldiers. He has respect for all of them in his heart. He is the Leader of the Opposition, and he must question the government. He does his duty. The House has not been running for so many days. He should talk to everyone. Have they become so weak that the House is not running? They discussed Operation Sindoor, so now discuss this issue (SIR) as well."
What did the Supreme Court say to Rahul Gandhi?
The Supreme Court had asked sharp questions to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi regarding his alleged remarks on the Indian Army after the clash between the Indian and Chinese armies in the Yangtze region of Arunachal Pradesh in 2022.
A bench of Justices Dipankar Datta and Augustine George Masih disagreed with Gandhi's remarks and said, "How does he know that China has occupied 2000 square kilometres of land and a true Indian will not say so."
Justice Datta said, "How do you know that China has occupied 2000 square kilometres of Indian land? What is the credible information? If you are a true Indian, you will not say so. When there is a conflict across the border... can you say all this?"
