The Indian Medical Association (IMA) on Monday sought an explanation from Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan on the launch of Coronil, the so-called drug of Corona formulated by Baba Ramdev's company.

The IMA has issued a press release on Monday, asking Dr. Harsh Vardhan several questions one after the other.

In a statement issued by the IMA, the Union Health Minister has also been accused of violating the Code of Conduct of the Medical Council of India.

The statement reads, "The rules say that no doctor can promote a medicine, but the Union Minister who is a doctor himself is shocked by the promotion of the medicine."

The Indian Physicians Association has announced to take the matter to the Medical Council of India.

What is the matter

Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan attended a press conference organized by Baba Ramdev at the Constitution Club in Delhi last Friday. Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari also participated in this program.

Baba Ramdev told during this press conference that research papers related to coronils prepared by his institute have been published in many international journals. In this press conference, the two Union Ministers took pictures with Coronil.

After the press conference, Ramdev also said in an interview given to different TV channels that Coronil has been approved by the World Health Organization to be sent to 154 countries of the world.

But this claim has been denied by the World Health Organization. Since then, the IMA has been questioning the presence of the Union Health Minister in this program.

According to the IMA, the release of an unscientific drug by the Union Health Minister and its immediate release by the World Health Organization is an insult to the people of this country.

IMA asked tough questions

The Indian Healthcare Association (IMA) has slammed the Union Health Minister after the World Health Organization denied Ramdev's claim.

The IMA has asked these questions to the Union Health Minister-

As the Health Minister of the country, how appropriate and logical is it that you keep such false information in front of the whole country?

As the Health Minister of the country, how legitimate is it that you release unscientific products with false information to the people of the country?

As the Health Minister of the country, how ethical is it that you present any product in front of the whole country in an unethical, wrong, and false manner?

As the country's health minister and modern medicine doctor, how ethical is it to present an unscientific product to the people of the country?

As the country's health minister and modern medicine doctor, can you clarify the time frame and timeline of the so-called clinical trials of self-released anti-corona products, if taken?

As the country's health minister and modern medicine doctor, can you clarify the patients involved in the double-blind and single-blind clinical trials for the so-called clinical trials of the so-called anti-corona product?

As the country's health minister and modern medicine doctor, can you clarify the patients involved in the double-blind and single-blind clinical trials for the so-called clinical trials of the so-called anti-corona product? Was informed consent obtained from these patients?

In an interview after the launch, Baba Ramdev criticized the modern medical system and termed it as medical terrorism. Being the health minister and modern medicine doctor of the country, can you clarify these very objectionable and inflammatory statements of Baba Ramdev?

It has been told in your presence that this drug has been approved by DGCI, on what basis was it done?

The Indian Physicians' Association (IMA) also raised the question that if the coronil is so effective in protecting against corona, then why is the Indian government spending 35 thousand crores on vaccination.

Why press conference came under controversy

In the press conference, Ramdev claimed that nine research papers have been published in the world-famous journals about coronil and 16 research papers are in the queue.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari present at the program said, "Until now it used to be in Ayurveda that we take these medicines because we had faith. There was also a benefit. But now he has done the work of Acharya Balakrishna by doing scientific evaluation and analysis and presenting it along with its research paper. "

At the same time, Dr. Harshvardhan said that there is no scope for doubt about the capabilities of Ayurveda. He has also written on his Twitter account that the dream of Ayurveda is the dream of the Government of India.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan said about the growth in Ayurveda market, that the market of Ayurveda used to grow at a rate of 15 to 20 percent before Covid. But after Covid, this market is growing at a rate of fifty to ninety percent.

Along with this, he congratulated Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balakrishna for the research of Coronil.

Ramdev has claimed in an interview after the event that Coronil has received permission from the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) and the World Health Organization has given permission to sell the drug in 154 countries.

Patanjali Ayurved also wrote from its official Twitter account, "Patanjali's coronil tablet will now cure Covid. The Ministry of AYUSH has accepted coronil tablets as corona medicines. ”

Patanjali Ayurved Limited Managing Director Acharya Balkrishna wrote on the official Twitter account, "We are very happy to say and feel proud that Coronil has been given COPP by DGCI keeping in mind the World Health Organization GMP Quality Approval. The license has been granted. "

The World Health Organization rejected the claim

An explanation has been issued by the World Health Organization.

The World Health Organization's official Twitter handle on South East Asia wrote, "The World Health Organization has not reviewed the effects of any traditional medicine for the treatment of Covid-19 nor has any drug been certified."

Questions are being raised on Ramdev's claim after clarification from the World Health Organization.

Acharya Bal Krishna explained

After the controversy arose in this matter, Acharya Bal Krishna has tweeted from his official Twitter account and put his company's side.

Bal Krishna wrote on his Twitter account, "We want to make it clear so that there is no confusion." The WHO-GMP compliant COPP certification to Coronil has been issued by DGCI, Government of India. The World Health Organization does not approve or disapprove of any medicine. The World Health Organization works towards creating a better and healthier future for people all over the world. "
