Exclusive: Amidst the ongoing dispute with China on the LAC, the helicopters of the Indian Army have found a special device that can move troops from enemy bunkers and artillery locations during border surveillance. As well as providing accurate information, video recording can also be provided.

This small 'downlink equipment' has been prepared by an indigenous company. On Tuesday, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh handed over this downlink equipment to the Indian Army. The Aviation Corps of the Indian Army had such indigenous helicopters in which electro-optic pods were fitted with which reconnaissance and surveillance could be kept.

However, for any operation, there was a dire need for a recorder to prepare a strategy by accurately locating the enemy's location and for accurate information about the damage done to the enemy after the operation.

What is Downlink Equipment?

In such a situation, the Indian company, Axicom Private Limited, has prepared 'Downlink Equipment with Recording Facility' for the ALH-Mark 3 'Dhruv' and ALH-W SI ('Rudra') helicopters of the Indian Army. Downlink Equipment helps surveillance helicopters to conduct surveillance in operational areas across borders.

With the help of this device, data can be recorded during surveillance and it can be recovered on return to base. It is being fitted on light helicopters of the Army.
