Shoaib Akhtar surprised to see team India ODI World Cup Squad: Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar presented his opinion regarding the India-Pakistan match in the World Cup. Akhtar expressed surprise at the exclusion of Yuzvendra Chahal and left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh from the World Cup squad.
Left-arm bowler not included in the team
Akhtar said “How they (selectors) did not pick Chahal in the team is beyond my understanding. Apart from this, Akhtar said that Arshdeep Singh should be on the team because when you are playing against a team like Pakistan under pressure, you need a left-arm fast bowler.
India will play the World Cup with one less bowler-
Akhtar said that when you are out for 150 or 200 runs, it is not the batsman but the bowlers who need to perform. He said that if the first five batsmen could not score runs then what would the number 7 or 8 batsman do? So I think India is going to enter the World Cup with one less bowler.
At what number will Virat Kohli play?
Akhtar further said that for the last two years, India has not been able to select its final playing XI. Due to injuries to players in the team, three people have taken their place in the team. It's strange to me that we still don't know who will bat at No. 4 and 5. Will Virat Kohli at number 3 or 4?
Indian team is not stable
Akhtar said that it is very strange for me that India has not been a settled team for the last two years. The reason is that you don't know who has to play at which number, but having said that, Rohit and Virat have to play well because you have got a name.
Pak players praised Hardik and Ishaan
You have to stay at the crease so that we don't leave it to the young players. Rohit and Virat are two very big names so they will have to perform. The bowling team looks completely shaky. Hardik Pandya Hardik Pandya will once again be important for India. Ishan Kishan has the mentality to play at any number.
