Increasing blood sugar levels is considered harmful for the body, it is a problem of diabetes. If your blood sugar level is often high, then due to this problems can increase for many organs of the body like eyes, nerves, heart, etc. This is the reason why people who have diabetes problems are advised to control their sugar level by keeping their lifestyle and diet right along with medicines.

 

But do you know that increasing the level of sugar is as harmful as reducing it can also lead to similar complications for the body?

 

An increase in the sugar level is known as hyperglycemia while its decrease is known as hypoglycemia. Doctors say, depending on our diet and routine, the blood sugar level changes frequently during the day. However, if its reading falls below 70 mg, then it can have many side effects. Let us know about the problem of low sugar and the problems caused by it.

 

Hypoglycemia problem

 

Hypoglycemia is often thought to be related to the treatment of diabetes, meaning that the drugs used to treat diabetes can sometimes cause the blood sugar level to drop too far below normal. Hypoglycemia requires immediate treatment.

 

If this condition is not taken care of, then it can have many symptoms, some of which are considered serious.

 

How to know your blood sugar is getting low?

 

The symptoms of hypoglycemia can vary from person to person. Many times it experiences normal problems which also get cured by itself, but in some situations, its symptoms can be serious. When your blood sugar level is decreasing, it can be identified by many symptoms.

 

Feeling shaky or weak to sweating and chills, increased heart rate, confusion or trouble concentrating, nervousness or irritability, or your skin turning pale. It can also cause unconsciousness, so if you have diabetes and are having such problems, check your sugar immediately.

 

Symptoms can also be serious

 

Patients with symptoms of severe hypoglycemia require immediate emergency medical attention. In rare cases, there is a risk of coma or even death as a result of severe hypoglycemia. In this condition, the patient may have difficulty speaking, problems with physical coordination, or loss of consciousness, along with blurred or double vision. If the sugar level is continuously 60 or less, then there can be a risk of taking its serious form.

 

What to do if sugar is low?

 

According to the American Diabetes Association, if your sugar level becomes very low, then immediately eat a small amount of carbohydrates. This can improve the symptoms to a great extent, however, if you are experiencing severe symptoms and normal measures are not helping then contact a doctor immediately.
