Heavy Rain: Outcry due to heavy rain, 153 deaths in Gujarat and Maharashtra so far, rain alert in these states even today

Normal life has been derailed due to rains and floods in more than 22 states of the country including Gujarat and Maharashtra. Heavy rains have wreaked havoc in Maharashtra and Gujarat. There is a flood-like situation in many parts of Gujarat for the last four days. In the last 24 hours, 6 people have died here, so far 69 people have lost their lives. At the same time, 84 people have died and more than 60 people have been injured due to heavy rains in Maharashtra since June 1. The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka today.

 

Many people died in a car washed away by strong water flow in Maharashtra

 

Three people were killed and three are missing after their car was washed away by a strong current of water at Nanda Gomukh in Saur tehsil of Maharashtra. All the passengers are residents of Madhya Pradesh. In this incident, Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis said that efforts are being made by the administration to trace the missing people and help is also being taken from NDRF. I am in touch with Nagpur DC in this regard. Four lakh rupees will be given to the families of those who lost their lives.

 

In Rajkot too, a flood-like situation has arisen due to rain. Water entered the basement of a hospital here, due to which patients had to be shifted. Gujarat Revenue Minister Rajendra Trivedi said that a red alert has been declared in Bharuch, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Surat, Tapi, Dang, Navsari, and Valsad in the state. CM Bhupendra Patel took stock of the flood-affected Navsari on Monday and met the victims.

The water level rises in Andhra Pradesh's Godavari river, warning issued

 

The water level in the Godavari river in Andhra Pradesh rose to 12.10 lakh cusecs on Tuesday morning. Due to this, the risk of floods has increased. State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) Managing Director BR Ambedkar has issued a warning asking people living in the settlements along the river to remain alert and take precautionary measures because of the threat of floods. Forces of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have been deployed in vulnerable areas.

 

Four people died in Karnataka

 

A woman and her daughter were killed when a wall collapsed in the Markawada village of Uttara Kannada district due to heavy rains in Karnataka on Tuesday. Several incidents of landslides, school buildings, and house collapses have been reported in the Coastal and North Karnataka region. Meanwhile, officials on Tuesday retrieved the body of youth at Kaniyur near Puttur in Dakshina Kannada district. The search for the second body is on. People living on the banks of the Krishna river in north Karnataka and Kaveri in south Karnataka have been asked to move to safer places following heavy rains.

 

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said the government stands with the people at a time when most parts of the state are submerged. Chief Minister Bommai said that the National Disaster Management Authority has received a fund of Rs 739 crore for rescue and relief work in the state. There is no paucity of funds to start relief work.

 

Heavy rain in Mount Abu and Pratapgarh of Rajasthan

 

Many areas of the eastern part of Rajasthan received heavy rains on Tuesday. A record 8 cm of rain was recorded in a day in Mount Abu and Pratapgarh. There was 7 cm of rain in Kota's Sangod. According to the Meteorological Department, 6 cm of rain was recorded in Ajmer, Tatgarh, and Banswara. The department has forecast heavy rain in Banswara, Sirohi, Rajsamand, Pratapgarh, Jhalawar, Barmer, Pali, Jaisalmer, and Jodhpur.
