'I don't want sympathy...' Rajpal Yadav breaks silence on help from Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan

Rajpal Yadav was granted interim bail from Tihar Jail in a ₹9 crore loan case. When the actor surrendered in a decade-old check-bounce case, several prominent celebrities came forward to help him.

 

 

Film stars supported Rajpal Yadav during his difficult times. It was rumored that Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, and several other celebrities helped him. Some filmmakers even offered him films.

Now, after his release from jail, Rajpal Yadav spoke with ETimes about the support he received from the industry:

 

 

This matter first surfaced in the media in 2012. Reports said, "Rajpal Yadav is a fraud." Since then, I've received at least 10 films every year. If I were a fraud, why would anyone work with me? The industry doesn't need to prove they're with me; I believe everyone is.

 

 

Didn't name the celebrities who helped him

Rajpal Yadav refused to name the people in the industry who helped him. He further said, "I respect all the help, but I don't want sympathy."

 

 

What's the matter?

In 2010, Rajpal Yadav took a loan of ₹5 crore for his directorial debut, "Aata Pata Lapata." However, after the film's failure, he was unable to repay the loan. The loan, along with interest and penalties, ballooned to ₹9 crore.

 

 

Checks bounced several times, the case went to court, and then, on February 5, 2026, Rajpal surrendered. After depositing ₹2.5 crore, Rajpal was granted interim bail.
