Just three days before Operation Sindoor, the airstrip on the Ganga Expressway from where the fighter planes of the Indian Air Force took off to express their intentions to Pakistan. Its security has been tightened.

This 5 km long night landing strip on any expressway has been made. 24 hour patrolling has been started along with the deployment of PRV. The administration is also keeping an eye.

The Air Force had conducted a rehearsal.

After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, on May 2, the Air Force had conducted a rehearsal on the airstrip built in Piru village of Jalalabad on the under-construction Ganga Expressway.

14 fighter planes including Rafale, Sukhoi, Jaguar, Mig-29 had successfully landed and taken off in daylight as well as in the darkness of night. War practice was also conducted by landing soldiers from helicopters. It was found to be completely suitable as an alternative arrangement in emergency situations.

Just three days after this, the Air Force entered Pakistan and destroyed nine terrorist hideouts, which included fighter planes like Sukhoi and Rafale.

However, no one knows what the army's next step will be, but the way Pakistan has started firing on the border. After that, precautionary monitoring has been started on the airstrip, given the situation.

SDM Jalalabad Durgesh Yadav said that no instructions have come regarding the security of the airstrip, but given the circumstances, PRV has been deployed here at the local level.

This is why it is important.

The cantonments of Fatehgarh and Agra are close to this airstrip built on the Ganga Express between Meerut and Prayagraj. In an emergency, it is easy for the army to take action with the help of fighter planes.

In the five km long airstrip built on the 594 km long expressway, the three and a half km runway has also been specially designed for night landing and take-off of the Indian Air Force planes, due to which this strip is important for war and disaster management in emergency situations.

First runway for night landing on the expressway

This is the fourth runway built on the expressway in the state. Earlier, a runway has been built in Unnao on the Agra Expressway. Runways have been built in Etawah in Bundelkhand, Sultanpur in Purvanchal Expressway, on which trial landing of fighter planes has been done, but this runway built on the Ganga Expressway is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. Along with this, this is the first runway on which planes can be landed even at night.
