India Lockdown Day 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday morning held a meeting with leaders of parliamentary parties of various parties amidst the prospects of expanding the current nationwide lockdown. PM Modi held a meeting with 5 leaders of joint parties in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha through video conferencing. 5 MPs also attended this meeting.

 

The meeting was attended by Congress's GN Azad, TMC's Sudeep Bandyopadhyay, Shiv Sena's Sanjay Raut, BJD's Pinaki Mishra, NCP's Sharad Pawar, SP's Ram Gopal Yadav, SAD's Sukhbir Badal, BSP's SC Mishra, YSRCP's Vijay Sai Reddy and Mithun Reddy, JDU's Reddy joined.

 

Thoughts on increasing lockdown

 

However, according to sources, no announcement about the extension of the lockdown is expected before April 11. The meeting began at 11 am via video conferencing to take a decision on whether to increase the lockdown in the future, besides the outbreak of Corona virus in India, among other key issues of this meeting.

 

The primary points of the agenda for this all-party meeting were to consider whether to end the lockdown or extend it and if the government wants to withdraw it, what should be its approach. The current lockdown ends on April 14. . Other discussion points of this meeting included the economic impact of the lockdown and how to deal with it.

 

Sources said that the salary released to the states, the future of daily wage earners who are most affected due to this closure. All these were discussed in the meeting about any possible economic package.
