Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif himself has revealed this. Sharif's actions have exposed Turkey. He has revealed everything by thanking Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Erdogan met Shehbaz in Istanbul. The conversation took place just a few weeks after the tension between Pakistan and India increased. Shehbaz thanked Erdogan for his firm support against India. On the social media platform 'X', Shehbaz wrote, 'Got a chance to meet my dear brother President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul. Thanked him for his firm support to Pakistan in the recent Pakistan-India standoff.'
Shehbaz further wrote, 'On behalf of the people of Pakistan, expressed gratitude to my brothers and sisters of Turkey. We also reviewed the progress in our multifaceted bilateral relations, particularly in trade and investment. Reiterated our resolve to continue working together to further strengthen the unbreakable bonds of brotherhood and cooperation.'
Erdogan's response
According to a statement from Turkey's presidential office, the aim of the meeting was to strengthen relations between the two countries. The strengthening relations in the energy, trade, transport, and defense sectors were to be taken further. Erdogan emphasized the importance of cooperation between Turkey and Pakistan in areas such as intelligence sharing and counter-terrorism. He said that both countries should continue to work together to ensure regional stability.
Responding to Sharif's post, President Erdogan wrote, 'We discussed many important issues with him. Especially on economy, trade, and security. We reaffirmed our desire to strengthen the deep historical, humanitarian, and political ties between Turkey and Pakistan in every field. As my dear brother Shehbaz said, we have further strengthened the unbreakable ties, cooperation, solidarity, and brotherhood between our country and people. I express my heartfelt love to my Pakistani brothers through Sharif.'
5 billion dollar trade target
After the meeting, Turkiye's Communication Directorate issued a statement. It said that during the meeting, President Erdogan said that Turkiye and Pakistan will continue to take steps to advance their relations and achieve the five billion dollar trade target.
