US-based John Hopkins Center for Talented Youth has declared Indian-American schoolgirl Natasha Periyanayagam as the 'world's most brilliant student' for the second year in a row, based on the results of upper-grade level exams of 15,000 students from 76 countries around the world.
Periyanayagam (13) is a student at Florence M Godinier Middle School in New Jersey. He had given the John Hopkins Center for Talendau Youth (CTY) exam in 2021. At that time she was a student in fifth grade.
Natasha's performance in the exam is 90 percentile in grade eight.
Natasha's performance in the Verbal and Quantitative Aptitude test was equivalent to scoring a 90 percentile in grade eight, earning her a place in that year's honor list.
Natasha was honored this year for her exceptional performance on the SAT, ACT, School and College Ability Tests, or Common Assessments took under the CTY Talent Search, the university said in a press release on Monday.
Periyanayagam secured the highest grades among all the candidates
Periyanayagam's parents are from Chennai. He said that in his spare time, Periyanayagam enjoys drawing Google Doodles and reading JRR Tolkien's novels. CTY conducts upper-grade level testing to identify exceptionally bright students around the world and present a clear picture of their academic abilities. In his recent attempt, Periyanayagam secured the highest grades among all the candidates.
