New Delhi, Jan 30 (IANS) Indian restaurateur Monish Gujral has bagged a special jury award for his food blog which will be presented to him at the Gourmand Awards in Chinese wine capital Yantai on June 8.
" You have won this very prestigious jury award for the year 2014 for your blog www.monishgujral.com-foodie trail and you will receive your award at our next 'Best in the World' event in Yantai,” Gourmand awards president Edouard Cointreau said in a communication to Monish Gujral, owner of the Moti Mahal chain of restaurants.
"The Gourmand Awards are often compared by journalists to the Oscars. We believe they are inspired by the Olympic spirit which will show in Yantai. The Best in the World Awards will be announced during two awards ceremonies, one for food culture, the other for drinks culture,” he added.
He has written three books and all have won the Gourmand international best book awards. “On the Butter Chicken Trail", Gujral`s second book won the Gourmand best in the world cook book award in the easy recipe category.
His latest book on the kebab trail won the best foreign cuisine award for best in the world in 2013.
Beside actively writing many columns in newspapers, he is a keen food blogger, celebrating food and global cuisine, showcasing food trends and special recipes and cooking techniques.
