IPL 2023: Yashasvi broke the record of a fastest half-century, Rahul praised, Kohli said – best batting ever

In IPL 2023, the match was played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals on Thursday. In this match, Rajasthan won by nine wickets. RR's team achieved the target of 150 runs in 13.1 overs only. Yashasvi Jaiswal, 21, scored an unbeaten 98 off 47 balls with the help of 13 sixes and five fours. Through these innings, Yashasvi also made many records in his name. He brought up his fifty in 13 balls, which became the fastest fifty in IPL history. Earlier this record was in the name of KL Rahul and Pat Cummins. Both of them scored a half-century in 14-14 balls. Thanks to this dashing inning of Yashasvi, Rajasthan won the sixth season.

 

Rahul praised fiercely

After the match, KL Rahul himself praised Yashasvi for breaking his record and posted on social media. Rahul shared a GIF with hats off and wrote in the caption YBJ-19 (YBJ-19). YBJ is the short form of Yashasvi's name, while 19 is his jersey number. Not only this, but Virat Kohli also praised Yashasvi in his Instagram story. He wrote- Wow! This is one of the best innings I have seen in a while. Yashasvi Jaiswal what a talent you are! Rajasthan shared Virat's story on his page and wrote - G.O.A.T (Greatest of All Time / All Time Great) got approval.

 

Brett Lee also praised Yashasvi

Brett Lee tweeted and wrote- Wow YBJ-19! He brought BCCI to Team India as soon as possible. The opposition team Kolkata Knight Riders themselves also praised Yashasvi. He wrote – It was Yashasvi Jaiswal's night. Well played Yashasvi. The young opener from Rajasthan has so far won four Player of the Match awards this season. Yashasvi took home the Player of the Match award against Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, and Kolkata Knight Riders. He has become the first player to get four Player of the Match awards this season.

 

Earlier, Rajasthan's leg-spinning Yuzvendra Chahal had also made a big record. Batting first after losing the toss in the match played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata scored 149 runs losing eight wickets in 20 overs. Jason Roy scored 10 runs, Rahmanullah Gurbaz 18 runs, Captain Nitish Rana scored 22 runs, Andre Russell scored 10 runs, Rinku Singh scored 16 runs, Shardul Thakur scored one run and Sunil Narine scored six runs. Venkatesh Iyer's innings of 57 runs in 42 balls brought Kolkata to a score of 149. In his innings, he hit two fours and four sixes.

 

Chahal took four wickets. As soon as he took a wicket, Chahal broke Dwayne Bravo's record of taking the most wickets in this league. Bravo took 183 wickets, while Chahal has 187 wickets. Apart from this, Trent Boult got two wickets. Sandeep Sharma and KM Asif got one wicket each. In reply, Rajasthan won the match with 41 balls to spare thanks to Yashasvi's unbeaten 98 and skipper Sanju Samson's unbeaten 48. Samson hit two fours and five sixes in his 29-ball innings. Jose Butler returned to the pavilion without opening the account. He got run out.
