The 17th edition of the tournament will start on March 22, The first match will be played between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Chennai team will play the first match in the upcoming season of IPL for the record ninth time. Earlier, the team played the inaugural match in 2009, 2011, 2012, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022 and 2023. Meanwhile, the former Indian captain has talked about playing a new role in the new season.
