While Aamir Khan is the Mr. Perfectionist of Bollywood on the one hand, on the other hand, his ex-wife Kiran Rao is famous for making meaningful content. The film 'Laapta Ladies', which was released in theaters in March of this year, was highly appreciated by the audience as well as critics. The film maintained its hold on the box office for a long time.

This simple story of two women changing in a train touched the hearts of millions. This film was sent by the Film Federation of India in the Best International Feature Film category at the world's most prestigious award Oscar 2025. However, this film failed to make its place in Oscar 2025. Not only Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao are disappointed with this news, but the hearts of the fans who wanted to see 'Laapta Ladies' at the Oscars are also badly broken.

Missing Ladies did not get a place in Oscar 2025

On December 17, a list of 15 films shortlisted in the International Feature Film category for Oscar 2025 was shared, which Variety has shared on its official X account. Kiran Rao's film 'Missing Ladies' is nowhere to be seen in this list of Oscar 2025.

Missing Ladies may not have been successful in making its place in the International Feature Film category, but British-Indian filmmaker Sandhya Suri's crime drama film 'Santosh' sent by the UK has been shortlisted for the next round of this category.

How much did Missing Ladies earn at the box office?

The film 'Missing Ladies', which was released in theaters on March 1, earned a total of 20.24 crores at the domestic box office. The movie opened with 75 lakhs, but gradually the film's earnings increased. The movie's earnings worldwide reached 25.26 crores.

Laaptaan Ladies is a film produced by Aamir Khan. Ravi Kishan played the role of a police officer in this film. Nitanshi Goyal and Pratibha Rana were the lost ladies. Sparsh Srivastava who played the role of Deepak, his work was also highly appreciated.
