Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday attended a Christmas event organized by the Catholic Bishops Conference of India in Delhi. During this, he mentioned the attack on the Christmas market in Germany and the 2019 Easter bombings in Sri Lanka.
Referring to both the incidents, PM Modi said that he feels very sad when attempts are made to spread violence. PM Modi urged people to unite to fight this challenge.

PM Modi had arrived in Delhi to attend the Christmas event organized by the Catholic Bishops Conference of India. During this, he said that when attempts are made to spread violence and create disruption in society, I feel very sad. Just a few days ago we saw what happened in the Christmas market in Germany. Churches were attacked in Sri Lanka during Easter in 2019. I went to Colombo to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in the bombings. It is important to fight these challenges together.
At the same time, PM Modi stressed the importance of prioritizing human interests along with national interests. With this, he said that India's foreign policy reflects this approach.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said during this time that the teachings of Lord Jesus Christ celebrate love, harmony, and brotherhood and everyone should work to strengthen this feeling. Prime Minister Modi further said that it was a very satisfying moment for me when we brought Father Alexis Prem Kumar back safely from war-torn Afghanistan a decade ago. He was stranded there for eight months and was held hostage. For us, all these missions are not just diplomatic missions, but an emotional commitment to bring back family members.
PM Modi said that no matter where they are or what crisis they are facing, today's India considers it its duty to bring back its citizens safely. It is a proud moment that Pope Francis has made His Excellency George Kuwakad a Cardinal of the Holy Roman Catholic Church.
