An FIR has been registered against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), event management company DNA Entertainment Pvt Ltd, Karnataka State Cricket Association, and others in connection with the stampede near Chinnaswamy Stadium. The FIR makes serious allegations, such as culpable homicide. At the same time, the Karnataka CM has issued arrest orders.

The first arrest under this order has been made. Police have arrested RCB marketing head Nikhil Sosle from Bengaluru airport. According to the news, three other people have also been detained by the police. All of them are being questioned intensively at Cubbon Police Station.

Lakhs of fans gathered outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Wednesday to join the celebration of RCB winning the IPL title for the first time. During this, 11 people died and 56 others were injured in the stampede. The matter has been handed over to the CID for investigation.

FIR registered in Cubbon Park

Officials said that an FIR was registered at Cubbon Park police station after the complaint of the police inspector. The FIR names RCB as accused number 1, DNA Entertainment Pvt Ltd as accused number 2 and Karnataka State Cricket Association Administrative Committee as accused number 3.

The FIR claims that the necessary permission was not taken for organizing the event. RCB, the DNA event management firm and the state cricket association celebrated the victory without the necessary permission. RCB said it will cooperate with legal action following the FIR filed against it.
