The police, GRP, and security agencies were stirred by the information about the bomb in the Kanwar special train. The train had reached Haridwar carrying passengers from Delhi. Police and Bomb Disposal Squad hurriedly searched the station alerting the passengers, but the bomb was nowhere to be found. Investigation revealed that the information was fake.
Drunken kanwariyas fought over some issue. Ghaziabad resident Rinku Verma gave false information about the bomb in the train in the control room. Rinku Verma has been arrested by the police. According to the information, Kanwar special train reached Haridwar after leaving Delhi at around 2 pm on Sunday.
As soon as the train arrived, someone informed the police control room about a bomb on the train. The informer told that there are some suspicious people on the train. They are negotiating among themselves to plant bombs on the train. This caused a stir. An alert was issued to security agencies and the bomb disposal squad from the control room. In a hurry, GRP SSP Dadan Pal Singh, ASP Aruna Bharti, SHO GRP Anuj Kumar, SHO RPF Bomb Disposal Squad, Bomb Disposal Squad, and fire brigade reached the station with vehicles.
Earlier, the GRP alerted the passengers and got the station vacated. The bomb disposal squad searched the train, but no suspicious object or bomb was found anywhere. Due to this the police and agencies heaved a sigh of relief. The GRP scrutinized the person who gave the information.
Interrogated several passengers who got off the train. Rinku Verma resident of Ghaziabad was caught from the railway station premises itself. Rinku was drunk and he had come to Haridwar to collect Kanwar.
During interrogation, Rinku told that there was a fight with some people over sitting on the seat on the train. They beat him up. To teach them a lesson, he gave fake information about the bomb on the train to the control room.
SSP GRP Dadan Pal Singh said that as soon as the alert was issued from the control room, the accused was immediately arrested after taking the matter seriously. The accused was under the influence of alcohol. Whose medical was done late in the night?
