
NCPCR on Madrasas Admitting Non-Muslim Children: The Child Protection Commission has issued notices to all states and union territories, directing them to conduct a detailed investigation of madrasas admitting non-Muslim children. Along with this, instructions have also been given to the chief secretaries for mapping all the madrassas.
Priyanka Kanungo, chairman of the National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights ie NCPCR, has issued instructions by writing a letter to the Chief Secretaries of all the states and union territories. In his directions, the NCPCR chief said that the National Commission for Violation of Child Rights recommends a detailed investigation of all government-funded/recognized madrassas which are admitting non-Muslim children.
As per the instructions of the commission, such madrassas are not recognized and are unmapped. At the same time, those madrassas which are recognized but unmapped should also be included in the purview of investigation. Apart from this, after the commission's investigation, all such madrassas give admission to children in schools; Along with them, it also recommends mapping other unmapped madrasas.
Priyanka Kanungo, chairman of the National Child Rights Protection Commission, has asked the chief secretaries of all states and union territories to provide detailed information about the action taken about this letter and the steps taken to comply with the guidelines within 30 days.
