Karnataka: Violence erupts in two communities in Kerur, Karnataka, holidays in schools and colleges; Section 144 enforced

Violence broke out after a clash between two groups in Kerur, Bagalkot, and Karnataka on Wednesday evening. Three people have been injured. Section 144 has been imposed till Friday to control the situation.

 

 

It is said that the violence started after an argument between the two groups. People from different communities came face to face. There was also arson. Holiday has been observed in schools and colleges in Kerur.

 

 

Bagalkot Collector Sunil Kumar said that Section 144 has been imposed till 8 am on July 8. Police have detained 10 people in connection with the incident and are interrogating them. Soon after the incident, a group of miscreants entered the market and torched the vehicles. It has been told that both parties have leveled allegations against each other regarding the molestation of women. The argument about this turned into a ruckus.
