The Centre's vaccination campaign has divided the citizens of the country into two groups. One group is those who have been vaccinated against Covishield and these people can come and go anywhere in the country and abroad without any restrictions. On the other hand, the second group is of people with covaxin, whose movement is banned. The remarks were made by the Kerala High Court on Tuesday while hearing a case.

The High Court was hearing the petition of a person who used to work in Saudi Arabia and is not getting permission to return due to Covaxin. Due to the non-recognition of Covaxin by the World Health Organization for the third time, an appeal was filed by the person in the High Court. The person said that due to the non-recognition of Covaxin, his job was in danger.

Violation of fundamental right of a person

Hearing the matter, Justice PV Kunhikrishnan said that there are people on one side of the country who can come and go anywhere. Whereas, on the other hand, there are people who have got Covaxin, who have many restrictions. The court said that it is completely a matter related to the fundamental rights of the individual. This is a violation of his rights. The court said that it will not order that the center should give the third dose to the petitioner, but it can order that the center should solve the problem of the petitioner within a month. He said that a similar case is also pending in the Supreme Court. In that case, the Center has said that it is waiting for the recognition of the World Health Organization. The court will next hear the matter on November 5.

The court cannot sit as a mute spectator

The court said that he cannot just sit as a mute spectator. We are waiting for the Centre's reply. If the Center wants more time in this matter. So the Center should pay the petitioner the salary which he was getting in Saudi Arabia.
