Kerala Human Sacrifice: SIT reaches accused couple's house, NHRC issues notice to Chief Secretary and DGP

The SIT set up to investigate the horrific human sacrifice of two women in Kerala's Pathanamthitta is engaged in the investigation. Three accused were arrested in this brutal murder case. The SIT reached the house of Bhagwal Singh and Laila on Saturday in connection with the investigation. Here the SIT team collected evidence after investigation. A huge crowd of people had gathered around the occasion.

 

According to the information received, the Special Investigation Team constituted in the case reached the house of accused Bhagwal Singh and Laila on Saturday. The team was accompanied by two specially trained dogs, Maya and Murphy. With the help of these two dogs, the SIT collected important evidence from the house of both the accused. Earlier, during interrogation, Bhagwal Singh had given much important information. According to the police, the accused Bhagwal Singh used to call himself a doctor. Apart from this, he was also involved in many types of social work. Presently all three accused are in judicial custody.

 

NHRC sought report

Everyone is shocked after this matter came to the fore. Where the SIT is engaged in its investigation. At the same time, NHRC has also taken a strict stand regarding this. The NHRC has issued notices to the Chief Secretary and Director General of the Police of Kerala in the matter. In this notice, the NHRC has sought a report from both the authorities on the matter within 4 weeks including the status of the investigation and compensation paid to the families of the victims.

 

CPI(M) reacted

The ruling CPI(M) in Kerala has strongly condemned the sacrifice of two women. He demanded from his government to make strict laws to stop superstition and witchcraft and to strictly follow the existing law. The sacrificial incident shocked everyone. Such incidents can be stopped not only by law but by mass movements and awareness in society. The statement was issued by the party's state secretariat.

Recently, a case of sacrificing two women in the name of black magic came to light in the Pathanamthitta district of Kerala. According to the police, these women were called in the name of providing financial help. After which he was kidnapped and then brutally murdered. Not only this, the accused had buried the dead bodies of women in the ground by cutting them into pieces. Three accused were arrested after an investigation into the case.

 

Humans sacrificed to earn money

According to the police remand report, the pair husband-wife Bhagwal Singh and Laila had conspired with the prime accused Mohammad Shafi to commit the crime. The police remand report of the accused mentions that the shocking human sacrifice was performed as part of a ritual to earn money. The bodies of two deceased women, identified as Padma and Roslyn, were fished out of pits near the residence of Bhagwal Singh and Laila on Tuesday. According to the police, the accused had lured the victim with the promise of money.
