The border dispute between Karnataka and Maharashtra turned violent on Tuesday. Members of the Kannada group 'Karnataka Rakshana Vedik' pelted stones at trucks from Maharashtra in Karnataka's Belgaum. The incident took place near Hirbagdewadi toll Naka. The police have taken the people who were pelting stones into custody. On the other hand, Shiv Sainiks of former CM Uddhav Thackeray's faction wrote 'Jai Maharashtra' on Karnataka buses in Pune to protest against the incident. Also said that we are cultured so will not harm the buses.

When Shiv Sainiks tried to protest by entering Karnataka from Chikkodi on the Maharashtra-Karnataka border, they were taken into custody. Kolhapur Shiv Sena chief Vijay Devane has been detained. These people were opposing the CM of Karnataka and Eknath Shinde, the CM of Maharashtra.

Fadnavis expressed displeasure after talking to CM Bommai

Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis has expressed his displeasure after talking to Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai over the incident of stone pelting on trucks. Bommai said that strict action will be taken against the culprits involved in the incident. He assured that vehicles coming from Maharashtra would be protected.

Karnataka buses in Pune inked

In Pune, members of the Shiv Sena Thackeray faction smeared Karnataka buses with ink and wrote Jai Maharashtra on some buses. The police tried to pacify the angry Shiv Sainiks, but they did not agree. He said that we are cultured, so we are not harming the buses.

Sharad Pawar said - Do not test patience, if anything happens Bommai is responsible

NCP chief Sharad Pawar's statement on the border dispute has also come to the fore. He said that CM Shinde spoke to the CM of Karnataka, but he has not shown any leniency on the issue. No one should test the patience of our Maharashtra. It should not go in the wrong direction at all. He also said that if the attacks do not stop in 48 hours, we will have to come to Belgaum. Efforts are being made to spread panic among Marathis. If anything happens, Bommai will be responsible for it.

Pawar said- CM Shinde should take all the parties into confidence before taking any decision. The Parliament session is about to begin. I request all MPs to come together and take a stand on the border issue. He said that he would raise this issue in Parliament as well.

CM Bommai said – Do not let the ministers come

Two Maharashtra ministers Chandrakant Patil and Shambhuraj Desai announced their to visit Karnataka's Belgaum last Tuesday. On this, CM Basavaraj Bommai told Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde on Monday that there is a threat to law and order. Stop the ministers from coming here. He warned that if Maharashtra ministers come to Belgaum, they will take action. Following this warning, the proposed visit of the ministers was postponed.

On the other hand, the ministers of the ruling BJP and the Shinde faction in Maharashtra seem to be divided regarding the role of Bommai. Because of this, the opposition has become an attacker on the Shinde government. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, "Ministers Chandrakant Patil and Shambhuraj Desai were about to go to Belgaum. Controversy can arise from the tour because the case border dispute is in the Supreme Court. In such a situation, there is no point in fighting between the two states.

BJP government in both states, but vote bank compulsion

There is a BJP government in Karnataka and Maharashtra also BJP supported by Eknath Shinde is the Chief Minister. Still, the compulsion of the governments of both states is that they are not able to settle the unbridled dispute. On the contrary, this controversy is increasing.

Several Kannada organizations have warned the Karnataka government to be prepared for any consequences if the visit is allowed. On the other hand, many organizations in Maharashtra are aggressive on this issue. The Maharashtra Integration Committee (MES) itself had written a letter urging the ministers to visit here. Due to the vote bank, the governments of both states are not able to settle this issue.

Minister Desai bluntly – will give a befitting reply to the Karnataka government

Maharashtra minister Desai said, “If Karnataka CM Bommai is warning us not to step foot, we will not keep quiet. We will give a befitting reply to the Karnataka government.' Earlier, several Kannada organizations in Karnataka had opposed the Maharashtra leaders' visit. Karnataka Rakshana Vedike said after the meeting that Kannada workers are reaching Belgaum by boarding 100 vehicles from Bengaluru. There was opposition to the tour from other districts as well.

Maharashtra claims- Marathi-speaking people in 814 villages including Belgaum

Since independence, Maharashtra has claimed 814 villages including Belgaum, Khanapur, Nippani, Nandgad, and Karwar. Many leaders of Maharashtra say that the people here are Marathi speaking. When the reorganization took place based on language, these villages should have been included in Maharashtra instead of Karnataka. Karnataka, on the other hand, maintains that the state's boundaries were fixed under the Reorganization Act. Then there is no room for controversy.
