In connection with the investigation of the gang rape of a first-year student of South Calcutta Law College located in Ballygunge, Kolkata, the police have taken DNA samples of the victim and the three accused. Accused's altercation with the victim in the footage

For example, the CCTV footage shows the accused's altercation with the victim, forcibly taking the victim from the college gate to the guard room, etc., as the victim had said in her statement.
Various organizations protested
At the same time, the number of members of the special investigation team formed to investigate the incident has been increased from five to nine. On the other hand, protests were held by political parties and various social organizations against this incident across the state including Kolkata. Slogans of 'We want justice' were raised.
All three were accused and a security guard was arrested.
A former student of Law College, who is said to be a Trinamool Congress worker, along with two senior students, committed this crime in the room of the security personnel of the institute on the night of 25 June. All three accused and a security guard have been arrested in this incident.
NCW team visited the spot
A team of the National Commission for Women (NCW) visited the spot on Sunday in connection with the investigation of the gang rape of a student of South Calcutta Law College, Kolkata. Commission member Archana Majumdar raised questions on the role of the police.
