The situation in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, is tense following the September 26th riots. Meanwhile, a delegation of several MPs, including Samajwadi Party Leader of the Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey, was scheduled to visit Bareilly today. However, the Bareilly District Magistrate has written a letter to the Lucknow Police Commissioner and Superintendents of Police of other districts, instructing them that no political representative will visit Bareilly without prior permission. Following this letter, the police were put on alert. A notice was issued to the Leader of the Opposition, and a police force was deployed at his residence.

Since Monday morning, a heavy police presence has been observed outside the residence of the Leader of the Opposition, Mata Prasad Pandey, in Lucknow. Pandey has been placed under house arrest. Although he emerged from his residence and attempted to get into his car, the police stopped him. Meanwhile, police are deployed outside the residence of SP MP Ziaur Rahman Barq.

Meanwhile, a delegation of Samajwadi Party MPs, including Mohibullah Nadvi, Iqra Hasan, and Harendra Singh Malik, traveling to Bareilly, was stopped by the UP Police at the Ghazipur border on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway.

SP MP Mohibullah Nadvi said, "We are being prevented from going to Bareilly. This is unconstitutional... The BJP government first commits atrocities on the people and then tries to cover it up."

"I wonder what dark deeds the UP government is trying to hide?" SP MP Iqra Hasan said, "We don't understand why we're being stopped during this undeclared emergency. We request that the administration accompany us. We're not trying to hide anything. We have no agenda... I don't know what evil deeds the UP government is trying to hide by not allowing us to go to Bareilly."

Leader of the Opposition in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly and SP MLA Mata Prasad Pandey said on Saturday that police had stopped him and a Samajwadi Party delegation from going to Bareilly, where the recent "I Love Mohammad" controversy had sparked unrest.

"If the collector had written, I would have accepted it."

Leader of the Opposition Pandey said that the local police had served him a notice instructing him to stay at home and not go to Bareilly. "A delegation led by me was going there (to Bareilly)." He said that if the collector had written the letter, he would have accepted it. Then, a letter came from the Bareilly DM. He also said that your visit would spoil the atmosphere here, so you should stay here." They should not come.

Pandey further said, "To hide their shortcomings, they are not allowing us to go there. Now we will talk to our party members and take a decision accordingly."

Party leaders say the administration is trying to suppress their voice. Meanwhile, the police say this step has been taken keeping in mind security and law and order. Public issues will be raised on the platform during the delegation's visit.

In view of the unrest in Bareilly, the administration suspended mobile internet and broadband services for 48 hours, from 3 pm on October 2nd to 3 pm on October 4th.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Ashutosh Kumar Singh said that no problems have arisen so far. There is no chaos of any kind here. Police are deployed everywhere.

Uttar Pradesh police have arrested Ittehad-e-Millat Council (IMC) national general secretary Nafees Khan and his son Farman Khan in connection with the September 26 protest in Bareilly, bringing the total number of arrests in the case to 81.

According to police, Farman managed the IMC's Facebook page. Bareilly Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anurag Arya said Nafees and his son revealed that everyone was involved in the conspiracy.
