It is worth noting that since the body of the trainee doctor was found in the seminar room of the hospital on August 9, nationwide protests have been held against the incident. The police had arrested Kolkata Police's civil volunteer Sanjay Roy in this connection. The TMC government and West Bengal Police are in the dock. There is a constant reprimand from the Supreme Court. Seeing the tension increasing, the Calcutta High Court handed over the investigation to the CBI on August 13. Earlier, Kolkata Police was investigating the case.

On this, September 9, the Supreme Court had urged all the doctors to return to work by 5 pm on September 10. The apex court had warned that if they continue to remain absent from work, disciplinary action will be taken.
Still, doctors are adamant.

We are also waiting for this. It will be better and we have demanded that the discussion be telecast live to maintain transparency. They say they are frustrated, while I want to say they are frustrated sitting in an AC room, while we are frustrated sitting here on the road. We have all channels of discussion open, but our terms are not unreasonable... We will continue our protest.'
