After the defeat of the Grand Alliance in the Kudhani assembly by-election, questions are being raised about the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in the state and his image among the public. He is being held directly responsible for this defeat. Meanwhile, for the first time, Nitish Kumar has broken his silence on the defeat in Kudhani. During his address at the open session of the party at SK Memorial Hall in Patna on Sunday, the CM blamed his candidate Manoj Kumar Singh for the defeat. Nitish Kumar said that our candidates had opposed someone in the panchayat elections. They opposed our candidate because of this reason, due to which Grand Alliance had to lose the Kudhani seat.
Let us tell you that in the by-election on the Kudhani assembly seat, the Grand Alliance had fielded JDU's Manoj Kumar Singh alias Manoj Kushwaha against BJP's Kedar Prasad Gupta. Kedar Gupta was defeated by RJD's Anil Sahni in Kudhani seat in the 2020 elections. But due to allegations of corruption, he was dismissed from the legislative post, due to which the by-election was held here. RJD gave its seat to JDU candidate Manoj Kushwaha, but BJP's Kedar Gupta defeated him by a margin of more than three thousand votes.
CM Nitish called for making the country BJP free
Earlier, Nitish Kumar stressed the unity of his party and all the opposition parties in the country. He said that if everyone unites, they will win the 2024 elections by a huge margin. Targeting the BJP, he said that those who have no interest in the freedom struggle, are giving it new names.
