Republic Day 2023: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi will be the chief guest on Republic Day

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi will be the chief guest on Republic Day this time. The President of Egypt has been invited to celebrate this momentous occasion of 75 years of diplomatic relations between India and Egypt. On the completion of 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Foreign Ministry Secretary Ausaf Sayeed on Monday said that during this period mutual warmth and friendship between the two countries have strengthened. He said that only three days after India got independence on August 15, 1947, both countries had established formal relations.

 

President CC warmly welcomes the invitation

He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had invited Egyptian President Abdel Fattah as the chief guest for the Republic Day, which he warmly accepted. Foreign Ministry Secretary Ausaf Sayeed said, 'PM Modi had invited President CC to be the chief guest for the Republic Day, which he has warmly accepted. We have invited Egypt as a guest country during our G20 presidency this year. He said that it is a matter of satisfaction and civilization that the relations between India and Egypt have not only stood the test of time but have also been strengthened by mutual warmth, friendship, and goodwill.

 

President CC has come to India earlier also

It may be known that the President of Egypt has visited India earlier also. In the year 2015, he visited India for the first time. CC's upcoming visit to India will be his third after becoming the President. Earlier in December, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar told Parliament that the President of Egypt has been invited as the chief guest on this Republic Day and he has accepted the invitation.
