Due to this specialty, his stature has increased at the national level. Congress candidate and MLA Pradeep Yadav has represented the Godda parliamentary constituency once by winning the by-election held in 2001.
He was also against Nishikant in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections as a candidate of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM). In 2019, after winning the election from Godda's Poraiyahat assembly on a JVM ticket, he joined the Congress.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a rally in Dumka, while Rahul Gandhi's rally is scheduled to be held on May 30.
