The scholarship will not be given to students studying in classes one to eight in the madrassas of Uttar Pradesh from the academic session 2022-23. Instructions have been issued in this regard by the Central Government. Last year, about six lakh students studying in madrassas up to class VIII got a scholarship. One thousand rupees are given to the students of classes one to five in a year, while the amount of scholarship for classes six to eight is different.
The Central Government has said that under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, education from first to eighth grade has been made free. Therefore, there is no justification for giving scholarships to children up to class VIII. Now the pre-matric scholarship will be available only to the eligible students of classes 9th and 10th.
It is worth noting that in Madrasas, students from classes one to eight are given free lunch, uniforms, and books like the schools of the Basic Education Council. Earlier, students of council schools up to class VIII also used to get a scholarship, but it was discontinued a few years ago after education up to class VIII was made free under the Right to Education Act.
An order has been issued by the Minorities Department that under the Right to Education, education from classes one to eight is free. Other essential items are also given to the students. That's why only the students of ninth and tenth will be given a scholarship and their applications should be forwarded.
Explain that applications were sought for the scholarship till November 15. The applications have also been forwarded after verification by the institutes. Now its hard copy was demanded, but suddenly the process was stopped. Now only hard copies of the applications of the students of classes 9th and 10th will be submitted.
