The Maharashtra government has given a big relief to the students returning home from Ukraine after leaving their studies midway due to the Russia-Ukraine war. The state government has prepared a special curriculum module for such students so that these students will be able to study online.
Taking initiative in the interest of such students, the state government has developed digital content by Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) with the help of Elsevier. This is an optional course for students returning from Ukraine. This is a temporary arrangement for those students whose studies are being affected due to the Russia-Ukraine war.
State Medical Education Minister Amit Deshmukh said that the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), Nashik in collaboration with a private organization Elsevier has created digital content. This online course of three months duration was started on Thursday.
State Medical Education Minister and Vice-Chancellor launched
This online course module has been launched by State Medical Education Minister Amit Deshmukh and MUHS Vice-Chancellor Lt Gen Madhuri Kanitkar (Retd). Speaking on the occasion, Deshmukh said that this module will prove useful for the students who have returned from Ukraine and they should take advantage of it. The Minister said that thousands of students studying medicine in Ukraine had to return to India due to the outbreak of war there. To avoid the academic loss of these students, MUHS and Elsevier have provided useful material for them in a very short time.
Complete course free of cost, also available on the mobile app
Speaking on the occasion, Kanitkar said that MUHS has also developed a mobile application for the online learning module, which students can download on their phones and access the course material. The Vice-Chancellor informed that students desirous of taking online courses will have to register themselves on the MUHS portal. No fee will be charged to the students for this course.
