Maharashtra Politics: Uddhav Thackeray is facing one big setback after the loss of power in Maharashtra. After Thane, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, now many councilors of Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation have supported CM Eknath Shinde. Shiv Sena has power over four municipal corporations of Maharashtra. But Uddhav Thackeray's hands and feet are starting to swell due to the continuous support Shinde is getting within Shiv Sena.

Shiv Sena is slipping from the hands of Uddhav

Shiv Sena seems to be slipping from the hands of Shiv Sena President and former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. In Thane Municipal Corporation, where Shiv Sena has been in power for a long time, 66 out of 67 councilors of Shiv Sena have given a big blow to Uddhav Thackeray by giving their support to CM Eknath Shinde. Now only Nandini Vichare, wife of Thane MP Rajan Vichare, is left in the Thackeray camp.

Not only Thane, but 32 Shiv Sena councilors out of 46 of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation have also joined the Eknath Shinde camp. There is no good news for Uddhav from the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation where Shiv Sena's saffron flag is hoisted. 60 out of 65 councilors have made Uddhav Thackeray Jai Maharashtra. It is noteworthy that Yamini Jadhav, the MLA wife of Yashwant Jadhav, the biggest face of Shiv Sena in BMC, has already given her support to Eknath Shinde.

what is the challenge?

The biggest challenge for Uddhav Thackeray, who has lost his power in Maharashtra, will be that in the coming days, the power of the four big metropolitan municipalities in which Shiv Sena is currently in power should be preserved. Because in the coming few months, elections are to be held for about 11 municipal corporations of the state including BMC. These elections will not be less than an ordeal for Shiv Sena and Uddhav Thackeray.

All eyes are on the Mumbai Municipal Corporation. BMC has been occupied by Shiv Sena for the last 25 years, but the next elections are going to be held under such political conditions, where the confidence of Shiv Sainiks seems to be breaking. In this era, it will be important to see how Uddhav Thackeray can overcome the mountain of these challenges amid the growing power of Eknath Shinde.

Shiv Sena's strength is in MMR (Mumbai Metropolitan Area- MMR) region and the Konkan region including Mumbai. There are 75 seats of the Legislative Assembly in these areas. If we talk about Mumbai, today the largest party in Mumbai is BJP. Here BJP has 16 MLAs out of 36, while Shiv Sena has 14 MLAs. Eknath Shinde has strength in the MMR region.

In the same Konkan, leaders like Narayan Rane who are with BJP are ready to challenge Shiv Sena in their area. In such a situation, BJP has challenged Uddhav Thackeray and his Shiv Sena by making Eknath Shinde the CM in the area of his strength.
