Chief Minister Eknath Shinde may expand his cabinet in Maharashtra before August 7. According to sources, the BJP and Shinde faction have agreed on the number of ministers and portfolios. The cabinet will consist of 35 members. In this way, the Shinde camp will get a 40% stake in the government.
In the cabinet, 21 ministers from the BJP quota can join the cabinet, while the Shinde faction can get 12 ministerial posts. 2 ministerial posts will go to other smaller allies. On June 30, Eknath Shinde took oath as the Chief Minister.
The matter was also made on the division of ministers
If sources are to be believed, then along with the cabinet, talks have also been made on the division of departments. The BJP may keep big portfolios like home, finance, and revenue, while the urban development and road construction portfolios may be given to the Shinde faction of Shiv Sena. Shiv Sena's Deepak Keskar said that everything has been finalized regarding the cabinet. New ministers can be sworn in anytime this week.
Why the delay in cabinet expansion, know 2 important points...
The matter of cancellation of membership of 16 MLAs of his faction including CM Shinde is in the Supreme Court. The hearing on this is going on continuously. Therefore, the cabinet expansion is being postponed till now.
The number of ministers in the BJP and Shinde faction as well as the portfolio was not being talked about till now. The Shinde faction also needs a stake in the Centre. That's why the matter was stalled.
While Patil-Mahajan from BJP, Chandrakant Patil, Sudhir Mungantiwar, and Girish Mahajan are leading in the race to become ministers from BJP in Keskar-Gogavale race from Shinde Camp. At the same time, Deepak Keskar and Bharat Gogavale can be made ministers from the Shinde camp.

A hearing on the Shiv Sena crisis is to be held in Supreme Court on Thursday. The court has asked the Shinde faction to give the final draft. During the hearing in the court on Wednesday, CJI Ramana said - If we postponed the hearing, you formed the government.
