Turkey again struck Kashmir melody and India kept its hand on the raging rag, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar's befitting reply

Posted on 22nd Sep 2022 04:55 pm by rohit kumar

Turkish President Richep Tayyip Erdogan has once again raised the slogan of Jammu and Kashmir in the United Nations General Assembly. Erdogan has adopted this stance even after raising strong objections from India's side. On this, India has also raised the issue of Cyprus besieging Turkey. Within hours of Erdogan's statement, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Kavusoglu and raised the issue of Cyprus. Giving information about this meeting, Jaishankar also tweeted. He wrote, 'Met with the Foreign Minister of Turkey and talked to him on many issues. Among them is the crisis in Ukraine. Food security, G20 countries, and Cyprus.

The issue of Cyprus has always been a pain for Turkey and India has suppressed this vein in return for speaking on Kashmir. This diplomacy of India is being considered a befitting reply to Turkey's Kashmir anger. The Cyprus crisis began in 1974 when Turkey invaded and occupied its northern part. The situation in Cyprus had worsened due to the military coup and taking advantage of it, Turkey occupied it. Since then, India has been in favor that the matter should be resolved following the United Nations.
