However, there was hope of relief from the harsh cold due to sunshine on Friday and Saturday, but suddenly the mood of the weather changed. North India recorded minimum temperatures between 6-9 degrees Celsius, which was 3-6 degrees Celsius below normal. The minimum temperature in Chandigarh was 7 degrees Celsius in the morning.

Punjab and Haryana have also not got respite from the harsh cold. The minimum temperature remains below normal at many places in both the states. Ludhiana remained the coldest in Punjab with a minimum temperature of 5.6 degrees Celsius. The temperature was recorded at 6.2 degrees in Gurdaspur, 6.9 degrees in Patiala, and 6.4 degrees Celsius in Bathinda. At the same time, Karnal was the coldest in Haryana with a temperature of 5.6 degrees. The minimum temperature was 6.6 degrees in Ambala and 7.3 degrees in Bhiwani.
