Major action in the singer Zubeen Garg case, manager Siddharth Sharma, and festival organiser arrested

Singer Zubeen Garg's manager, Siddharth Sharma, and Shyamkanu Mahant, chief organizer of the North East India Festival (NEIF), have been arrested in Delhi in connection with his death. Both were taken to Guwahati after their arrest. Police said Zubeen Garg's manager and festival organizer are being questioned.

 

 

Arrests Made in Airport and Gurugram

Mahant was arrested upon his arrival at New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport from Singapore, while Siddharth Sharma was arrested from an apartment in Gurugram.

 

 

On September 19, the Assam government formed a 10-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by Special Director General of Police MP Gupta to investigate the singer's death by drowning in Singapore. The SIT issued notices to Mahant, Sharma, and several individuals, including members of the Singapore Assam Association and those who traveled to Singapore for the festival, to appear and record their statements.

 

 

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had earlier said that a lookout notice had been issued against Shyamkanu Mahanta and Siddharth Sharma through Interpol, asking them to appear before the CID by October 6.
