All trains going to Manipur were stopped
Following the law and order situation in Manipur, Northeast Frontier Railway has stopped all Manipur-bound trains.
NF Railway CPRO Sabyasachi Dey told ANI that no train is entering Manipur till the situation improves. The decision has been taken after the Manipur government advised to stop the train movement.
Internet services closed in the state
After mobile data, now broadband services have also been suspended in Manipur because of the ever-increasing violence in the state. The government has ordered the suspension of broadband and data services by Reliance Jio Fiber, Airtel Extreme, BSNL, etc. for spreading violence and rumors.
Due to the prevailing situation in the state of Manipur, suspension of internet services has been ordered for the next 5 days. Top officials of MHA are in constant touch with the state and are closely monitoring the situation.

Regarding the violence in Manipur, an army spokesman said that so far about 5,000 people have been evacuated to safe houses in violence-hit Churdachandpur, while 2,000 people have been evacuated to Imphal Valley and another 2,000 to the border town of Moreh in Tengnoupal district.
A military spokesman said the army and the Assam Rifles were called in on Wednesday night and they, along with the police, brought the violence under control by morning. Curfew has been imposed in non-tribal-dominated Imphal West, Kakching, Thoubal, Jiribam, and Bishnupur districts and tribal-dominated Churdachandpur, Kangpokpi, and Tengnoupal districts, a state official said.
The High Court had given instructions in favor of the Meitei community.
Violence broke out on Wednesday during a tribal solidarity march called by the All Tribal Student Union Manipur (ATSUM) in the Torbang area of Churchandpur district against the demand for ST status by the non-tribal Meitei community, which accounts for 53 percent of the state's population. The tribal population in the state is about 40 percent. Last month, the Manipur High Court asked the state government to send a recommendation to the central government within 4 weeks regarding the demand of the Meitei community. It was only after this that ATSUM organized the march.
An armed mob attacked the Meitei community
According to the police, a mob of armed men allegedly attacked people from the Meitei community during the march in the Torbang area. This retaliated with retaliatory attacks in the districts of the Valley, leading to violence across the state.
Several shops and houses were vandalized and arson was also done in the violence which lasted for more than 3 hours in Torbang. In several areas of the Imphal Valley, the houses of the Kuki tribals were ransacked, forcing them to leave the area. Over 500 residents of the Kuki-dominated Langol area in Imphal West have fled their homes and are currently living in the CRPF camp at Lamphelpet.
Some places of worship were also set ablaze in Imphal Valley last night. More than 20 houses were gutted in the Motbang area of Kangpokpi district. Violence was also reported from Moreh near the Myanmar border in the Tengnoupal district. Around 1,000 Meites from the tribal-dominated Churdachandpur district have moved to different areas of the Bishnupur district, including Kwakta and Moirang.
