Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level meeting on Saturday amidst the havoc of Corona in the country. During this time, Prime Minister Modi said that testing should be increased in areas with high positivity rates. He expressed concern over the increasing cases of corona in the villages. They should arrange door-to-door testing and surveillance in the villages. Apart from this, he has also expressed displeasure at not using ventilators.
It was told during the meeting that about 50 lakh tests were being done in the initial week of March, which has been increased to 13 million tests every week in April. During this, he directed to arrange a proper supply of oxygen in rural areas. He also said that health workers should be trained to operate ventilators and other equipment.

1. To prevent the spread of corona in rural areas
He instructed to arrange the necessary equipment in the fight against Corona in the rural areas. He also stressed empowering ASHA and Anganwadi workers. The Prime Minister instructed to arrange for home isolation and treatment in rural areas.
2. Audit of ventilators given to the states
The Prime Minister took seriously some reports of not using ventilators properly in some states. He directed that the installation and operation of ventilators provided by the central government should be audited immediately.
3. Distribution policy should be prepared for the villages
The Prime Minister directed that a distribution policy should be prepared to ensure oxygen supply in rural areas. Oxygen concentrators should also be included in this. The power supply must be ensured for the smooth operation of medical devices.
The pace of vaccination was also discussed
The meeting reviewed the situation of Corona in the country. During this time there was also discussion about the pace of vaccination in the country. The Prime Minister was told about the preparations of the government in the meeting. Senior officials associated with the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Home Affairs, and NITI Aayog attended the meeting.
Meeting on 'Tau Te' in the evening
Apart from this, the Prime Minister will also have a meeting at 5 p.m. on cyclone Tau Te. Senior officials of the government along with officials of National Disaster Management will also be present in this meeting. In this, preparations for relief and rescue operations will be discussed.
