RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, while advocating three children for a couple, said that in a society in which families have less than three children, their existence gradually ends. He said that, along with population control, an adequate population is also necessary for the country.
Addressing the question-answer session on the last day of the three-day dialogue organized in the centenary year of RSS at Vigyan Bhavan, Bhagwat said, population is both a burden and an opportunity for the country. The population policy should be such that, along with fulfilling the needs of the population, it can also be controlled, and the entire population can be properly nurtured. This policy should maintain a better balance between the needs and population of the country.
The RSS chief said, along with the scriptures, science also says that the birth rate should be appropriate. If this does not happen, then the concerned class or society becomes extinct. Under this policy, all countries are moving forward on the principle or policy of at least three children for a couple.
He said, in the new circumstances, the birth rate of every class, community, and religion of the country has decreased, but the fastest decline has come in the birth rate of Hindus. He said that when the population grows, nature also does its job to control it.
A family with three children is healthier... scientists also support it
The Sangh chief said, according to the country's population policy, a couple should have 2.1 children. In mathematics, 2.1 means two. But in social life, 2.1 means at least three children. Research shows that in a family with three children, parents and children remain healthier. According to health studies, due to this, there is less ego fighting in the family. Children learn ego management.
