MP News: Major accident in Madhya Pradesh, nine killed as passenger bus falls in Narmada river, rescue operation underway

A major accident happened in Khalghat of Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh. A bus full of passengers has fallen into the Narmada river. The accident is being told at 10 am. More than 50 people, including women and children, were on board the bus. So far the bodies of 9 people have been fished out from the river. The bus has been pulled out through a crane. The accident happened while saving a vehicle coming from the Rond side. The bus fell directly into the river 25 feet below breaking the railing of the bridge. The bus belongs to Maharashtra State Transport.

 

According to the information, the passenger bus going from Indore to Maharashtra fell into the river 25 feet below due to deteriorating balance on the Khalghat Sanjay Setu bridge. Dhamnod Police and Khaltaka Police are taking the front on the spot, divers are engaged for rescue. NDRF team has also reached the spot for relief. Indore Commissioner Pawan Kumar Sharma has directed the collectors of Dhar and Khargone to reach the spot.

 

CM took cognizance

 

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has taken cognizance of the bus accident in Khalghat located between Khargone-Dhar in the morning. As soon as the information about the bus falling into the gorge is received, the administration has been instructed to reach out soon. The bus was pulled out with the help of a crane. The rescue work of the passengers is going on.

 

The district administration is on the spot. The Chief Minister has given instructions to send the SDRF, in addition, instructions have been given to send necessary resources to the site of the incident and make arrangements for proper treatment of the injured. The Chief Minister is in constant touch with Khargone, Indore district administration.

 

At the same time, former CM Kamal Nath expressed grief over the accident in Khalghat of Dhar district. Demanded the government and administration to carry out rescue work on a war footing and told them to provide relief to the people at the earliest.
