When RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav recently took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not having a family, his supporters across the country and the world started a campaign 'Main Modi ka Parivar'. The supporters wrote on their internet media profiles to show that they too are Modi's family.

 

Modi's parliamentary constituency Varanasi is one step ahead in this. The common people along with the BJP leaders here wrote 'Main Modi ka Parivar' not only on their internet media profiles but also in their homes, shops, and institutions and gave the message that we all are Modi's family. Not only this, when people were talked to about this, they counted the works done by Modi, due to which they are his supporters.

 

Triple Talaq and free food grains are also talked about

 

Muslim women now definitely talk about the Modi government on triple talaq and free food grains and facilities. Dr. Shalini Tandon believes that there has been a change in the lives of Muslim women. Amidst all this, Vijay Sonkar, who has set up a fruit shop at Godaulia intersection, gets elated as soon as he talks about the elections. He is from the third generation at this shop. He has been running the shop for 25 years. He said, 'Why do you want to be told something? Nobody can do what Modi has done. Only a women's toilet is needed here. Everything is fine day and night.'

 

Everyone knows what the result will be

 

There has been a change in the lives of the people of Banaras. There has been progress in Banarasi sarees, hotels, medical facilities, and higher education. The road connecting the city and the speed of the national highway or ring road as soon as you step out of the city are examples of Banaras's development. The typical Banarasi with a Banarasi paan in his mouth does not talk much about the election discussion, but he says that everyone knows what the result will be in Banaras.

 

No one has become as Banarasi as Modi

 

The election color is bright in the multicolored Banaras. Why not, after all, Modi is contesting elections from here for the third time. Even before Narendra Modi, people who did not live here have represented Varanasi in the Parliament. Murli Manohar Joshi of Prayagraj, Shrishchandra Dixit of Raebareli, and Professor Rajaram Shastri of Mirzapur have won the elections from the Varanasi parliamentary constituency. People say that Modi has become as much Banarasi in 10 years as the number of outsiders may be less.

 

Other candidates also have a deep connection with the city

 

In this election, Narendra Modi's main rival is Congress state president Ajay Rai. There are seven candidates in the fray including BSP's Athar Jamal Lari. Lari's family, who lives in Larroad Deoria, has been living in Banaras for a long time and Ajay Rai, who originally lives in Ghazipur, is a Banarasi by birth. The family has been living in Banaras for two generations. The election strategists have filled the sentiment of 'I am Modi's family' after a lot of thought.

 

No work was left incomplete

 

Member of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust Council and BHU Professor Brajbhushan Ojha says that under Modi's leadership, faith has been awakened not only in Kashi but in the entire country. Heritage was preserved in Kashi and development work was done. Construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya, removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, no work was left incomplete.

 

So what if problems increased, 500 years of pride returned

 

Bullion trader Aniket Chandra Gupta calls Modi a boon for Kashi. He says that the pride of 500 years ago has returned. Mayor Ashok Tiwari says that Modi supporters in Banaras tried to tell everyone that they too are Modi's relatives by putting stickers of 'Main Modi ka Parivar' on the doors of houses, shop counters, and their vehicles. Some put the stickers themselves, and for some the party provided them. Whatever it is, the feeling of 'Main Modi ka Parivar' spreads everywhere.

 

Modi is unmatched on the political front

National Vice President of the Indian Industries Association RK Chaudhary talks about the complexities of GST but considers Modi unmatched on the political front. He says that the government has taken full care of the economy. Law and order is good. Good policies are being made. What more is needed now? MSME has some problems. They have to be resolved.
