Chandigarh, March 19 (IANS) The AAP said Wednesday it had no plans to drop or change some of its candidates for the Lok Sabha election in Haryana.
AAP spokesman Rajeev Godara said reports that former bureaucrat Y.S. Khayalia was being replaced with another candidate in Hisar was untrue.
"We have looked at all documents and the party has decided that Khayalia will be the AAP candidate from Hisar," Godara said in a statement.
Khayalia, a senior IAS officer in Haryana, resigned from the government in February and joined the Aam Aadmi Party.
He was posted as divisional commissioner at Hisar when he quit. He is contesting the Hisar Lok Sabha seat.
Khayalia will face outgoing MP and Haryana Janhit Congress president Kuldeep Bishnoi, Indian National Lok Dal's Dushyant Chautala, the great-grandson of former deputy prime minister Devi Lal, and Sampat Singh of Congress.
AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal started his national election campaign from Haryana's Rohtak town Feb 23. Haryana will elect 10 Lok Sabha members April 10. Haryana will also see assembly elections this year.
