No Fuel Policy will be implemented soon.
To reduce pollution in Delhi (Delhi pollution control), the decision to give fuel along with the action of confiscating and imposing fines on old vehicles was implemented in early July 2025. But after the protest of the people, the government took back this decision and gave relief. But now preparations are being made to implement the No Fuel Policy (Delhi fuel policy) soon.
The policy will be implemented from November.
According to the information, in a recent meeting by CAQM, it has been decided that from November 1, 2025, No Fuel Policy will be implemented in Delhi as well as NCR. Five districts have been included in NCR, which will include Faridabad, Gurugram, Sonipat and Ghaziabad.
What is the No Fuel Policy
As per the name, in the No Fuel Policy, those vehicles which have completed their age will not be given fuel at any petrol, CNG pump.
The policy was implemented in July.
An attempt was made to implement the No Fuel Policy in Delhi from July 1, 2025. Under this, old vehicles that were trying to get fuel or were found running on the road. Action was being taken against them. In early July, such vehicles were also confiscated, and a fine of five to 10 thousand rupees was imposed on them.
There was opposition
There was a lot of opposition to this policy in Delhi. After which Delhi government minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa wrote a letter to CAQM requesting to postpone the policy for some time and implement it in other districts as well. The government believed that there is some deficiency in the existing system, which needs to be improved.
