India and Pakistan have qualified for the next round from Group A. India won all four of their matches, while Pakistan managed to secure six points with three wins and one loss from four. Meanwhile, the USA, the Netherlands, and Namibia's journey came to a halt in the early stages. Namibia lost all four of its matches. The Indian team topped the group.

India Dropped Too Many Catches

While the Indian team managed to win the match, its fielding was once again poor. Captain Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma dropped catches for India in the match against the Netherlands. Furthermore, the team's batting performance was also poor, with the batsmen struggling once again. However, Shivam Dube batted brilliantly, allowing the team to set a challenging target.

Netherlands batsmen entangled in Varun's spin

After Shivam Dube's blistering half-century, India defeated the Netherlands thanks to Varun Chakravarthy's spin. Chasing the target, the Netherlands got off to a slow start, scoring 36 for one in the power play. The team lost Max O'Dowd (20), who was bowled by Varun Chakravarthy in the sixth over. Opener Michael Levitt (24) welcomed Pandya with a four over extra cover but was caught by Washington Sundar at deep midwicket in the same over. Colin Ackermann (23) also hit a six off Pandya, while Bas de Leede also hit a four off the fast bowler. Bas de Leede top-scored for the Netherlands with 33 runs. Noah Cross (25 not out off 12 balls) and Jack Leon Cash (26 off 16 balls) added 47 runs for the seventh wicket in 23 balls but could not lead the team to victory. Varun took the maximum three wickets for India, while Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Shivam Dube each took one wicket.

Shivam Dube played the best innings of his career

Earlier, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and decided to bat first. India made two changes to the playing eleven. Arshdeep Singh returned in place of Kuldeep Yadav. Axar Patel was rested for this match, and Washington Sundar replaced him for the first time in this World Cup. Indian opener Abhishek Sharma's poor form continued against the Netherlands. Abhishek was once again dismissed without scoring, having played only three balls. However, Shivam Dube played the best innings of his career, scoring 66 runs in 31 balls, studded with six sixes and four fours.

Shivam shared a 76-run partnership for the fifth wicket in 35 balls with Hardik Pandya (30 off 21 balls, three sixes). Dubey and Pandya came together in the 14th over when India was in trouble at 110 for four. Their innings helped India add 75 runs in the last five overs. Fast bowler Logan van Beek was the most successful bowler for the Netherlands, taking three wickets for 56 runs. Off-spinner Aryan Dutt took two wickets for 19 runs. The Indian team will play its next match against South Africa on Sunday in the Super Eight stage at the same ground.
