11 Digit Mobile Number, National Numbering Plan, TRAI: Your 10 digit mobile number can now be 11 digits. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has made such a recommendation. According to TRAI, more numbers will be available in the country by replacing 10-digit mobile number with 11-digit mobile number.

TRAI has given this advice to change the mobile number to 11 digits instead of 10, in its recommendation issued on ensuring proper numbering resources for fixed and mobile services.

In its proposal to convert mobile numbers to 11 digits instead of 10 digits, the Telecom Regulatory Trai of the country has said that if the mobile number is changed to 11 digits instead of 10, the availability of mobile numbers in the country will increase. That is, if the mobile number is changed to 11 digits and the first number is kept 9, then a total of 10 billion mobile numbers can be created in the country.

In addition, TRAI has also recommended to put '0' in front of the mobile number while making a call from the fixed line. Currently, for inter-service area mobile calls with a fixed line connection, a '0' is required at the beginning of the number. However, mobile numbers can also be accessed from the landline without initially imposing '0'.

Apart from this, TRAI has also recommended a new national numbering plan, which needs to be made available at the earliest. Not only this, TRAI has also advised to change the mobile number used for the dongle to 13 digits instead of 10.
