Czech Republic President Milos Zeman said a parliamentary deputy had proposed the highest Czech honor, Zelensky, and I decided to follow through. He said that the decision to give this award has been taken because the Ukrainian President has shown courage and bravery. He said that America had offered him evacuation from there but he remained in the capital of his country and from there he is leading his army and countrymen to protect them.

 

The CTK news agency quoted a Zeman spokesperson as saying that Zelensky could be honored at the end of October when the awards ceremony usually takes place.
