Indian students stranded in Iran amid Israel-Iran tensions returned to India on Thursday morning. A batch of 110 Indian students reached India under Operation Sindhu. All the students and their families looked happy on their return to their homeland. Meanwhile, the students talked about the deteriorating situation in Iran. The students said that the situation in Iran is terrible. The loud sound of missiles used to scare us.
A student named Yasir Ghaffar said that they saw missiles flying overhead at night and heard loud explosions. There was an atmosphere of fear, but now we are relieved to have reached India. We have not given up on our dreams yet and will return to Iran when the situation improves. The students and their families have expressed gratitude for this action of the government.
Another student said that the situation in Iran is bad and people are scared. The Indian government evacuated us. We did not even expect so much. They helped us at every step, and no one faced any problems. We are grateful to the central government. A student said I am happy that I have returned to my country. The situation in Iran was bad. The Indian government helped a lot, due to which we returned home.
Another student said that I am a final year MBBS student at Urmia University. We saw drones and missiles. We were scared. We are happy to return to India and are very grateful to the Government of India, especially the Ministry of External Affairs. Our parents were also worried, but now they are happy. Student Ghazal said that we were all very happy that we returned home and the Indian Embassy evacuated us properly. We are very grateful to them. The situation in Urmia where we lived was much better than in Tehran.
We saw missiles passing through our hostel: Maryam.
Student Maryam Rose, who came from Iran, said that the Indian Embassy had already prepared everything for us. We did not face any kind of trouble. We have been traveling for three days, so we are tired. When we left from there, the situation in Urmia was not so bad. We saw missiles passing through the windows of our hostel. Student Aman Azhar said I am very happy. I cannot express in words how happy I am to meet my family. The situation in Iran is very bad. The people there are also like us; some small children are in trouble. War is not a good thing. It destroys humanity.
Another student said that the situation in Iran is getting worse day by day. The situation in Tehran is very bad. All Indian students are being evacuated from there. We are from Urmia University. Indian officials are doing a good job. All the students are being evacuated and taken to a safe place. We were evacuated from our university and taken to Armenia. After this, we were taken to Qatar. From Qatar we reached India.
We did not expect to come back.
The student who returned from Iran said that we were happy because we did not expect that we would be able to come back. Such are the conditions in Iran. I hope the war will end soon because our studies will also be completed and Iran will not have to suffer much loss. I am very grateful to the Indian government for the way they evacuated us. We have not faced any trouble so far. But we have come to know that buses are being arranged for us from here. I think after traveling to 3 countries we are not ready to travel by bus. I request our CM (of Jammu and Kashmir) to facilitate us so that we can meet our parents as soon as possible.
Parents looked happy
The father of the student evacuated from Iran said that my son is coming back via Armenia by a special plane sent from India. He was doing MBBS in Iran. I have come to pick him up from Kota, Rajasthan. I am happy that my son is returning home. Praising the Indian government, he said that the government has made good efforts. I urge the government to help the students stranded in Tehran. My son was in the border area, and the situation there was not so tense, and only people living in border areas have been able to get out of the country. People trapped in the interior areas of the country including Tehran have not been able to come out yet. I want to thank the Indian Embassy in Tehran for their efforts. The mother of a student said I am very happy that my daughter has returned home. I want everyone's children to come back. The Indian government has managed everything so well that our children did not face any problems anywhere.
